Michigan Valley is one of the most encouraging, loving, welcoming churches around! Would definitely recommend this church if you are looking for a non-denominational, modern church with solid biblical beliefs!

Inspiring Stories

By Harve Newlin:

On July 28 my daughter Jenny was attacked by a nest of yellow jackets and had about 15 bites. She experienced arthritic symptoms throughout her body and she had no desire for food, surviving on liquids. On August 2 she began to have lower back pain. Apparently, the back pain was the result of overloaded kidneys dealing with the poison in her system. On line she found instances where some with multiple bites would have the pain followed by kidney failure. On Friday her condition had not improved for three weeks and already in Lawrence I told her I would come by her house to pray. She agreed and after 15 minutes of conversation I put my hand on her shoulder and prayed. The healing was instantaneous. We both knew it. A couple of hours later she was hitting golf balls. Three hours earlier this would have been unthinkable.
Immediately after we prayed I commented on the part her faith had played in the healing. I must have acted a little surprised because she immediately said " Dad, don't you remember years ago when I was preparing to run a marathon and had a knee injury so painful that training was out of the question. You asked how the training was going roughly a week prior to the event. As I was eating a bowl of cereal you said you were going to pray for my knee as I protested saying no Dad no. As you prayed I felt movement in my knee and was healed. With a final week of training I finished the 26 mile marathon.
After the miracle of the fish and loaves, Jesus told the disciples to cross Galilee and he would remain behind to pray. As they rowed a storm arose and a two hour trip extended into the night. The apostles feared for their lives. Jesus appeared, " and he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened." Mark 6 vs 51-52  It is important that we remember the blessings we have already received so that our hearts are not hardened.
